I’ve been producing my music on DAW’s since I was 14 years old, so my backlog of songs is quite massive. Here is some of my most recent work. all soundcloud links allow for downloading of the full .wav file.

TIMPANOGOS - DR. BOB

This track currently known as “Dr Bob” was recorded at UVU’s studio by me, Heath Henry, and Brandon Ard, and then mixed later by me. We tracked everything onto the Audient ASP4816 mixer. The Bass and Guitar were in a separate room than the drums and keys, so we could get nice clean recordings with no sound leakage. The track was originally recorded into Pro tools, and then mixed in Logic Pro.

The band “Timpanogos” is a band I’m heavily involved with creatively, but this track in particular is written by William Belcher, and he had a very specific sound in mind for it. He is very inspired by “shoe gaze” rock music like “Slowdive” or “My Bloody Valentine.” This genre of music is focused on building a wall of sound by using interesting effects. He wanted his vocals to sound distorted like they were coming out of an amp. Instead of actually recording his vocals through an amp I opted to use one of Logic Pro’s amp modelers so I could have more adjustment.

For the guitar part (Peyton Gray), there was a lot we needed to do on the effects side of things so we could achieve that signature “Shoe gaze” sound. At UVU we only recorded one track for the guitar, but we captured the amp and used a DI box. Later in my home studio we captured some multi tracks for the last half of the song. He used his fuzz and chorus pedal along with a phaser and reverb. We captured these tracks in stereo as the Roland Jazz Chorus amp outputs a very nice stereo sound.

The bass track (Will Belcher), Initially gave us some problems. He was wanting to use an old Digitech multi FX bass pedal, which was giving a pretty cool sound for the first half of the track, but ended up having a little too much distortion for the second half. We used the clean DI box track and added some distortion using plugins for the second half.

The drums (Zac Turner) were recorded and performed quite good, but the overall level of them needed to be automated to fit the atmospheric first half, and the explosive sound of the second. He also thought it would be cool to have some reverb on the snare track for the first half of the song.

It’s in my nature to get a little carried away by synths, so I worked closely with Will on this one as to not go too hard on them. Originally we had a bell sound that played the same melody, but we found that it was a little too distracting. I recorded some pads using a couple different patches on my Roland Juno D6. Will said he wanted a “submarine vibe” for the first track, In my head I knew exactly the pad sound he wanted. I also used a sequenced effect in the Zenology VST. For the second part of the song we had a little more room to go crazy. I used an arpeggiator on my JU-06A and also recorded three different lead tracks and panned them around for a psychedelic feel. Will also wanted to add an organ VST to add some warmth.

STUDENT FILM - WHAT WE CALL MONSTERS

Recently I got to run audio on a Documentary style short film! This student film is called “What We Call Monsters.” It was directed by Will Belcher, and produced by Zaya Johnson and Grant Hess. It contains some interviews of some people’s scary childhood memories interlaced with experimental and unsettling footage. I recorded the audio for the interviews and the footage.

The project is still being edited, but once I’m given the editor’s final cut I will be doing the post work on this film as well.

PANTSOFTWARE - UNTITLED VIDEO GAME PROJECT

This is an untitled indie video game currently being developed by my friend Eli Stillings. He is a Computer Science Major at the U. He asked if I could help him with some sound design and also make the soundtrack for him. He wants to have some dynamic music in his game, which was a fun challenge both for the composing side of things and the implementation. He has a very messy low poly style for the games art direction, similar to indie games like “Cruelty Squad” or “Hylics”. I wanted to make sure the sound effects and the songs matched the offbeat and quirky style of the game. The game is being developed using the Godot engine, which has a very big community, so it has been super easy figuring out how to implement the sound exactly how we want.

One level takes place in a club with a dance floor. Outside of the room, the (intentionally crude and simple) song is quieter and muffled, but once the player is inside the room the song is clearer. I also have added the sliding door sound effect.

The second level is a recreation of the barn that many see when doing an eye exam. He wanted to have dynamic music for this one. There is a calming track with some nice bit crushed effects and bird chirping, as you get closer to the barn, the drums for the song start to get louder and more distinct.

He is still working on the gunplay for this game, so it is not fully fleshed out yet, but I’ve done a little bit of the sound design and implementation. We figured out a way to make the gun sounds not get repetitive by having the sounds vary in pitch by 0.5 semitones, We are also using a recording of his air soft gun for the reload noise.

Isaac Online - Sunset From The Window

This is my own song, so I composed it as well as mix it. The drums were recorded by me at my home studio. The song was originally recorded in Logic Pro, and then mixed in Pro Tools. For the synths it is a mixture of analog and digital synths. The guitar solo at the end is my Grestch Streamliner running directly into my mixer, and then into an amp modeler in Logic Pro. I got a solid mix with both stock plugins in Pro Tools, and a couple third party plugins. This song was for my own personal album called “Head Towards the Sky” that was released last April

Timpanogos - “Ducktape Slipper” (recording)

This song is a pretty iconic song in the Utah county underground. This one by Timpanogos only features guitar bass and drums. I recently tracked it at UVU for my Core Recording Final. The song is mostly unmixed as it was only my job to record it. I got a 140/150 on this project. The recording process for this one was about as simple as it gets. I Mic’d and DI’d the guitar amps, and for drums had two overhead mics, along with a snare, kick, and tom mics. This was my first time using the studio at UVU, and it was a great learning experience!

Isaac Online- “Chain Your Mind”

One of my more recent songs, and one that I’m particularly proud of. This song is intended for a video game. I was thinking about the game series “Pikmin” which has a lot of dynamic music. This song has a lot of details that blend with eachother very well. The percussion sounds I recorded my self, the synths are primarily coming from my OP-1F. I released this song in an album called “Love you buddy, Have a good day.”

Timpanogos- “Spring Breeze”

Timpanogos is a project originally by my childhood friend, Peyton Gray. He had a lot of ideas for songs and I was someone competent in a DAW. Since much more band members have joined it has become more of a genre bending “anything goes” project. This is a recent song recorded by me and Peyton, originally Peyton had these chords and the idea for how the melody would go, and the rest is my job. I worked with Peyton to get the exact sound he wanted for this one.

Timpanogos- “View Of The Valley”

This song was also fully recorded in the studio at UVU. I helped setup all the microphones and also played the piano part on here myself. The track itself has been mixed entirely by Heath Henry, who is another audio student here at UVU. This song is from our original project from all the way back in 2023. Overall this version is much less overproduced, and is pretty much exactly how it sounds when the band plays live, which is exactly what the band wanted.

My Backlog

You can find my songs as far back as 2020 on Apple Music and Spotify, its not the best stuff in the world, but its at least proof of growth, and shows how long I’ve been dedicated to the craft.

As for my more recent work. Since I’ve been attending UVU I have released a couple albums. I’ve created full album visualizers with custom animations for each individual song, and uploaded them to youtube. They are also readily available on most streaming platforms. I also made CD’s and sold them at live events.

Released April 2025, My most recent full album. It’s a Acid-Jazz/Synth Pop album inspired by Jamiroquai and Kyoto Jazz Massive. It is my best mixed record, and has a whole lot of recordings that I did myself.

Released December 2024, 3×3 is a messy and energetic drum and bass album. Lots of bit-crushing and digital distortion. Despite its rough edges, it is my most streamed album to date.

Released July 2024, Let me have fun was my first real album under the Isaac Online name. It was mostly recorded during my freshman year of college, so the mixing is quite rough, but it still contains some solid songs.
